HAIR AND MAKEUP SETUP REQUIREMENTS

We pride ourselves on delivering a serene and indulgent experience and your comfort is at the core of our service. To help our team provide their signature luxury touch, we’ve outlined requirements so that workstations can be set up efficiently and effectively. The following information applies to clients hosting one artist up to a team five. 

For larger events, we’re happy to design a bespoke salon-style setup to meet your needs.

MAKE UP ARTIST STATIONS 

For makeup artistry, natural light is always preferred. A station near windows is ideal to help artists achieve precision, though our team comes prepared with professional lighting and will require access to an electrical outlet. Each artist needs a table approximately 1m in length and 40cm in depth to organize their kits. Seating is also essential: a tall chair, such as a bar stool, is preferred. If unavailable, our artists can adapt, working seated with two standard chairs—one for the client and one for the artist.

For make up artistry, the following is required:

  • Provide a well-lit area with either natural light or access to electrical outlets.
  • Ensure a table of sufficient size is available for kits.
  • Arrange for tall seating to enable artists to work comfortably.

General Setup Requirements

  • Natural Light: Makeup artists work best with natural light. A setup near windows is ideal, but our team also brings professional lighting and will require access to electrical outlets.
  • Power Outlets: Each station must have nearby power sockets to accommodate styling tools and lighting.
  • Tables: Each artist requires a table approximately 1m in length and 40cm in depth to organise their kits.  
  • Seating for makeup: Tall chairs (e.g., bar stools) are preferred. If unavailable, our artists can provide seated services using two standard chairs per station (one for the client, one for the artist).
  • Seating for hair: Low-back chairs are ideal to give stylists easy access to the back of the client’s head.
  • Mirrors: While not essential for makeup stations, mirrors are critical for hair stations to ensure precision and client satisfaction.
  • Bins: Small bins should be placed between stations for convenience and cleanliness.  

Temperature Control: Air conditioning is recommended, particularly in warmer locations, to ensure comfort when using hot styling tools.

Hair styling stations are best equipped with lower chairs that allow easy access to the back of the client’s head - chairs with tall backs can obstruct the stylist's work. Each stylist requires a table of similar dimensions (1m x 40cm) for their tools and products. Mirrors are essential for hairstyling to ensure accuracy and client satisfaction. Additionally, power sockets near each station are crucial for operating heated styling tools and ensuring a smooth process.

For hairstyling, the following is required:

  • A low-back chair to allow access to the back of the client’s head.
  • A table for the stylist’s tools and products.
  • Adequate lighting and mirrors for precision work.
  • Nearby electrical outlets for heated styling tools.

To further enhance the experience, we recommend providing light refreshments to keep guests comfortable. A touch of soft background music can create a calming ambiance, and if needed, our team can supply a Bluetooth speaker with curated playlists to set the perfect tone.
